First time logging in for years...says accout is banned

Hi,

To whom it may concern. I've never used a third party app and do not have any applications that interfere with LoL. I haven't played a game in several years. Someone asked me to check out Teamfight Tactics. I login to find out my account was banned I guess in some massive bug that happened 2 years ago that Riot did a bad job of handling something that flagged tons of accounts erroneously? Does anyone know more about this or what to do?

I'm really unsure exactly what is happening with this or if this issue was ever resolved.
