First time logging in for years...says accout is banned

Hi,

To whom it may concern. I've never used a third party app and do not have any applications that interfere with LoL. I haven't played a game in several years. Someone asked me to check out Teamfight Tactics. I login to find out my account was banned I guess in some massive bug that happened 2 years ago that Riot did a bad job of handling something that flagged tons of accounts erroneously? Does anyone know more about this or what to do?

I'm really unsure exactly what is happening with this or if this issue was ever resolved.

You should have no problem, it's most likely just a security thing. Submit a support ticket and they should be able to help you get your account back nice and easy, unless it is for some other reason which could be the case.

I see what happened I think. It appears someone has been using my account without my permission. By that I mean this account was hacked.

Okay well I hope Riot Support will help you resolve that. Assuming you're not pulling any bologna, I think there's a good chance you'll be able to get it back. Good luck!

No, there is absolutely no bologna here. I'm very worried that Riot support has not been helpful in the past. I did go in and change password/e-mail etc. so whoever had access to the account should not be able to access it anymore. I haven't played in 2 years. Whenever the 'new' client was made, someone asked me to play years ago and sometime around then I needed an update/a whole new client needed to be downloaded. The client wouldn't update before we had a chance to play, several hours, so gave up. Last time I even tried to log in.

There's a whole slew of match history from February this year that is not me, using heroes I never even use.

It's quite interesting how they would have gotten in. The password was not changed and since I haven't logged in in about 2 years, I have no idea how they would have gotten access besides a breach on Riot's side. There are a number of matches from around February 10 2019 and that appears to be when the account was hacked for a day. They must have been botting/scripting and got banned over it.

I've heard Riot is quite helpful in this type of situation, you should have nothing to worry about.

Unsure what's happening actually. Woke up and logged in and it appears the ticket was deleted. I'm very confused at what's happening.

Hmm. Maybe send an actual Email to Riot support and explain your situation? Idk that's weird

Breech wouldnt have been on riots side. Likely they brute forced it or your password got jacked elsewhere/you got phished.

Unfortunately, hacked accounts are common so someone can boost someone else, or sell the account to someone else.

Thanks again for the help, finally calming down after panic mode for a bit. Contacted places I have cards with and stuff to trace this all out. I will let the forum know how this is resolved. I'm hopeful Riot can help.
