Aram Snowballs on hit effects

So I've noticed this happening every so often. Someone with rylai's or luden's will throw a snowball and it'll proc the effect. I've seen it happen in a few games now and thought it was only happening to with echo, but then noticed it happened at least twice when I was using rylai's last game. So it may be happening with any items that do effect with magic damage.
