Black Screen During Champ Select

There has been multiple times where I've joined a match, gotten into champ select and my client goes black and won't let me choose a champ. Since I can't leave a game because I will be penalized there is nothing I can do besides accept the LP loss. Is there any reason why this is happening because this is really frustrating.
