[Gameplay] zed shadow not throwing his q out all the time

I play zed regularly and have noticed when i use w then q to harass in lane the my shadow is not throwing anything and the shuriken is not thrown but the animation is still done. And this is irritating as it completely changes my dmg done. On top of a quick fix so to say is to use w and wait a few seconds then q to see if it will fire.
