Unable to buy items in shop

I was playing a game of soraka earlier and after about 10 minutes into the game, i became unable to buy items in the shop. I had around 700 gold but could not buy upgraded cdr boots. Then, after buying pieces of redemption/ardent censer later on, I could not combine the pieces of these items into the full item. I had to resell all of the components and had to have enough gold to buy the items in full. This cost me about 4k gold throughout the game, which for a support, is crippling. Please tell me there is a fix for this bug, because thankfully my game was a normal, but I see other people in this thread complaining that it happened in their ranked games and I sympathize with them because this is a very heavy blow to the support's gold economy.
