[Gameplay] Thresh and Souls
Thresh can collect souls using his lantern even when they are not near him or the lantern. He collects them if they are in the range his lantern can reach and happens once the lantern ends.

This is still happening. Souls often come to Thresh when he and his lantern aren't anywhere close to them.
