Ah this again?
Well basically, game operates on 2D hitboxes that manifests as shapes on the ground, mainly circles.
If you hold down...spacebar i think it is? In game you´ll see a circle around your character, that is your hitbox.
Now basically thresh´s Q hitbox is a circle on the ground that moves with his hook and its a bit larger than it, that circle made contact with MF´s and the hook just moves accordingly for the sake of clarity and style.
That is not right. It makes it hard to dodge for new players. It take the skill of the hook of what you say is true. Just because it’s been like that for years doesn’t make it right. Riot needs to fix it. Because I’ve even had one hit from behind a minion. When it landed the hooks chain was inside a minion. That takes zero skill and takes the outplay out of the hook.
Minions basically have minuscule hitboxes so your champ´s one can easily cover it if you stand directly behind it.
Circles on the ground.
Its been like this from the start, old game and it would take too much effort to fix it.
I'm not giving an opinion on whether this specific issue should be fixed or not, but this is an "old game" that still grossed $1.4 billion in revenue in 2018. Even if it takes significant effort/time to code some change, we're speaking more to how much money Tencent/Riot takes away in their bottom line than whether Riot can truly expend the effort/time.
You might have had a point there, if it wasnt for this huge list of other problems we have that need fixing that are more urgent too.
Mordekaiser 200+bugs.
Riot isnt looking to temporarily expand any of its teams as far as we know, so its the same small old groups working on the same type of things at all times.
And whichever bunch is responsible for bugfixes? I can only feel bad for them, their workload is constantly growing with constant high alert and gamebreaking things poping out.
I was thinking about that myself after I made my post that Riot's everyday staff probably are truly doing all it can handle given their numbers, and I mean no disservice to any Riot team staff member. Good point.
However, it is a reflection on this game owners' short-term profit priorities that they so understaff that their userbase feels a huge list of problems has piled up. If treated as a long-term investment and properly staffed and updated, this is a game that has the potential to continue to generate significant income for its investors for many years to come.
In summary, I agree with you that hitboxes probably aren't the highest priority issue for Riot's bugfix team, things being as they are. However, I disagree to to consider League as being too old to merit additional effort/investment in its nuts and bolts. Sad those are getting rusty, as it is.
that's intended, and has been that way for a lot of years.
Another example https://www.twitch.tv/dimill/clip/FastQuaintKeyboardYee Can smb tell if the link to clip is actually working, for some reason it sends me over to stream even though I used shared link on clip.
Mf is just got that booty
Nah pls fix hitboxes, ty
It's intended. The reasoning behind the extended hitbox is "it's more satisfying to land a hook than to miss one."
