Ashe's Q(frost) is not showing the icon. I can't tell if frost is active or not.

I can't tell if the ability is on or not in some cases I thought it was on yo slow the enemy but it wasn't. Another time I was being chased and I wanted to slow the enemy so I pressed my Q to active but apparently I turned it off. I can't tell if it's on or not without the icon.
