League is taking up my entire CPU with only the launcher open

I have 16 Gigs of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB Graphics Card and an 8 core processor. My computer is in fine condition, but when I open league i can hardly keep my hands on the keyboard because it is so hot. I looked in Activity Monitor and league is taking up between 97% and 99% of my RAM. When league isn't open everything on my computer works fine. Any tips?

Reinstall league or repair it.

What processor do you have? Just because you have 8 cores it doesn't mean its gonna be able to handle league. Maybe you have a processor better for editing and content creation than a decent one for games.
