Ward didn't work in bush?

So I just had a game where I saw an Annie hiding in a bush waiting to ambush me. She was standing right beside a ward and was clearly visible. Then I don't see her anymore and I assume she walked outside the wards range into the fog of war. But nope, she was still there and nuked me. Has anyone else seen this? Invisible Annie is kind of a nightmare if you think about it.
