[Possible bug?] I did not get the champion I chose

Just now, I played a game as Poppy, which I did not pick. In champion select, I locked in Kindred and waited for the game to start. Of course I don't have a screenshot to prove it because who takes screenshots randomly? As I was loading I noticed a significant lack of Kindred among the 10 champions. In game, I asked my teammates and two others confirmed that I did indeed pick Kindred, and it was not my mistake. It was my Plat 4 promos and we lost so I'm pretty salty about it, but more importantly, how did this happen? Did anyone else experience something similar? Thanks in advance.
