[Crash] Screen freezing and lagging with broken maps and textures

Like one or two weeks ago when I was playing normal the screen just got completely frozen, but sound and other programs were still running normally. I have to ctrl+alt+del to close the client. A few days ago there were broken textures appeared while the screen was frozen. Somehow after a few seconds it went back to normal but it happened more and more frequently. Yesterday I re-install my graphic driver and LOL client. That day it worked completely fine. But today when I started playing it just happened again. Indeed it started to happen after I install another 4 GB ram but I don't think it matters. I have checked my graphic card as well and there was nothing wrong with it as far as i can see. This only happened when i was playing league. Can someone please tell me what's wrong with my computer?

P.S. the attached picture was showing the broken texture.

I'm no expert but i think you used the ult in the wrong direction :3

I've seen this sort of thing happen when a graphics card is overheating or dying. It could be a number of things, but we can check for potential overheating issues:

I personally run software like speccy, which can show you the temperature of your graphics card in real time. Run the software, enter a custom game for about 40 seconds, and then check the temperature.

If it's running too hot, you may need to clean out the graphics card fan, and possibly acquire another cooling device to put in there. Either way let me know! I'm stuck behind a train atm, but I'll check back in with you after a bit!

The beauty of the modern gaming computer is mass quantity of things that can go wrong. Here are the things I would check (in addition the what Riot Frosthaven said):

  1. Start with the memory, since that can be a somewhat significant change. Try re-seating the RAM (both the new RAM and the OLD RAM, as you may have accidentally bumped the old ram out of a good connection). Try playing with only the old RAM Is the new ram the same type, size, brand, speed, etc. as the old RAM? Mixing and matching RAM can occasionally cause issues. Additionally, running a memtest (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer) might identify if your RAM (new or old) is the issue.

  2. Did you install any new software/programs/drivers for anything else recently? Programs that seem totally unrelated can unintentionally interfere with other programs. (An example of this is the samsung magician utility for SSDs interferes with Titanfall)

  3. Do you see visual artifacts or problems in other games/applications? If you're only having issues with LOL, and not with more gfx intensive issues, you may have some sort of software/driver conflict, or found some obscure bug. Does it happen more often when you're using certain champions or skins? Have you tried changing the settings

  4. Check the other cheap, easy stuff (some examples below) Do the same for your graphis card. (You may have unintentionally bumped or jostled this or other components out of place when installing the new memory) Make sure all the power connectors from your power supply are firmly connected. Do a virus scan Try disabling various any unnecessary background programs Check the smart status of your hard drives (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.)

As hardware can be relatively expensive, I'd say look at replacing/upgrading any hardware or components as a last resort. If you do think it is strictly a hardware issue another likely culprit aside from your graphics card could be your power supply. Some of them slowly degrade over time, and can't supply the proper power to keep things running smoothly. If you think that it is strictly a hardware issue, this might be one of the parts to replace first, as you'll likely need to upgrade the power supply anyways if you're getting a significantly newer/more powerful graphics card.
