Mac bug: Computer logged me off while in game, LOL program disappears but still runs

I had just started a game and was on my way to lane when I got logged out of my mac while still fullscreened in league. I relogged on to find that my in game sounds was still going and I was still in game but my computer didn't recognize that the league app was running, nor could it reopen the app. I had to replace the user kernel and repatch league before I got the app to start again.

I know it's a very odd bug but I never told my OS to log me out. Using latest OS btw EL Capitan 10.11.13
