CONSISTENT 5 FPS CLIENT TAKES %50 RAM HELP! [GAMEPLAY/CLIENT BUG]
Hello,
To give you the shortest but most detailed explanation as possible, let me start by saying that league is one of the few games that I've never had a problem with. It has only ever crashed on me once in the year I've spent playing it, and my FPS and Ping were always well recieved. I rarely experienced anything remotely close to a freeze or any other error in that nature and I considered myself very lucky when hearing about other people's issues. Apparently, Karma didn't like this so now my league client is eating %50 of my RAM. Not joking there, though very recently after opening a third game for testing purposes it's gone down to %20-30 (it keeps switching back and forth) that's still a very high amount. For a league client anyway.
This started happening yesterday evening, so first i lowered all my graphics settings to see if that would help. The FPS didn't budge and the freezing didn't even let up a little. Granted, my ping was still good and the game didn't crash but I couldn't even see my character move - they just slid or jumped around the screen. So after lowering graphics settings, I clicked the box that's supposed to close the client during gameplay, thinking that since for whatever reason the client is the one hogging ram and not the game then it should be fixed that way. It was not. Even with that box ticked and all the graphics as low as possible it still froze. I messed with the capped and uncapped FPS settings, the full screen, windowed, and borderless settings, etc.
Literally everything I could have tried to make things better, I did try- and then when I got no results I turned to my drivers. I updated everything, restarted my pc each time, and then loaded up the game again...it still had that dreaded 5 FPS. So then I said eff it and hard reset my entire computer thinking that maybe it was just windows or some sort of bug issue in my pc causing the incredible ram usage. I uninstalled every single thing and wiped everything, then booted up a fresh new shiny windows and got league set up again. Waited around thirty minutes for the download to finish, then started up a game.
Surely it should run smoothly now, right?
Nope.
I'm at a loss for what else I could possibly do to make this game work. Part of me blames the update, since I had never had this type of issue with League before. I can run things like Fallout 4, Titanfall, Skyrim etc on high graphics without a care and League is one of those games that could run on a potato if it needed to...so I'm just not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions? Do you guys think this could just be an update bug or...what?
Any help is much appreciated!
