Shaco clone does not generate tower aggro.

Recently had a game against Shaco in which his clone would not generate tower aggro by attacking me. This issue persisted through the whole game. Shaco repeatedly ordered his clone to dive me at top turret and my turret kept firing on the minion wave while his clone killed me. Any turret wold only target a shaco clone if no enemy minions were nearby whatsoever. Additional info: Patch 7.23 EUW Shaco used Summon Aery as keystone.
