Xerath E non-existent?!?

Okay so I was just playing a regular team builder match as Xerath. Sometimes during the match, the E did not show at all and it went on cooldown. It did no damage and did not show itself. It probably happened 5/10 times and during those times I was either trying to escape death or nab a kill in the mid lane. Is there anyone else experiencing this bug?
