[GAMEPLAY] Mordekaiser W doesnt lock onto people correctly

Just played an ARAM where my W wouldnt lock onto the intended target and would usually lock onto nearest player, even if my intended target was in range. For example, many times i tried to W the warwick on my team engaging and W would lock onto nidalee or orianna next to me so i couldnt help him using movespeed. I use quick cast if that helps.
