Stuck in client at 0 seconds for picking a champion, but no dodge happens [CLIENT]

The client in champ select as my friend (the third one down) ran out of time. As his time was ticking down he was unable to lock in. For us it didn't show anything hovered for him, but for him he had Malphite and he was trying to click Gragas, but was unable to do so. Then the time ran out, and the client didn't dodge! We just sat there at 0 seconds unsure of what to do, for about 5 minutes. We dodged after a while and it didn't count against us but it was pretty funny.
