Baron on rapid fire?

I typically can solo baron with Udyr with Triforce and 180 armor + and make it out with it least half health. But twice today when I went to go solo it, It seemed like it was on rapid fire mode. It hit me with its ranged attack at melee range like 3 times per second and I had to run within seconds.

maybe I did something wrong?
