Olaf throws axe behind him after teleport

Everytime I teleport with Olaf, if I try to immediately throw my axe, it is thrown towards my own nexus. This is with smart cast on. I have not tested it with manual cast. This makes it hard to capitalize off of a teleport to a champion pushing a tower or ganking with a teleport. At first I thought I was just messing up my cursor placement, but this has happened numerous times. Anyone else experiencing this?
