Remake broken?

Hi, I'm not entirely sure how the remake system is supposed to work. However, i just got done playing a game in which my top lane kennen did not connect from the very start of the game. I was fine with this because i figured that eventually we would get the option to remake. I know that getting a remake in ranked is possible because i've had enemy teams get remakes while i was in ranked. However, i've noticed that whenever i have a teammate that does not connect, for some reason I do not get the remake option. I started getting worried when 5 mins into the game nothing had shown up. I was wondering if there was some error, I checked to see if the surrender option was available, it wasn't. Eventually I started spamming the /ff command, only to get the too early to surrender thing. I just don't know what to do anymore, because at the end of the day the kennen did reconnect around 15 mins into the game. I know this because the "ally has reconnected" announcement came up, which meant that the kennen had actually been disconnected, and he wasn't just sitting in base trolling. Yet for some reason we were never afforded the opportunity to get a remake. Cost me -18 LP at the end, for a game that should not have happened. I don't know what to do anymore because at this stage it feels like the system is working against me, and i don't wanna come off as some whiny asshole, but i just can't express to you how frustrating it gets to lose a ranked game over some stupid stuff like this, when you're trying desperately to climb. especially when you're losing 18-20 LP per game and gaining 15-19. It just feels wrong. The worst part is knowing that we would have won no matter what with our team comp if the Kennen had been there. For some reason, remake does not work for me anymore, and i'd like to figure out why. Thanks for your time folks. item 3070 item 3070 item 3070

Remake seems to not be working for a lot of players. there an entire Reddit dedicated to the problem https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/5314fx/let_us_remake_if_teammate_hasnt_left_base_for_3/? And there are several posts on this forum going for the past several months and Riot hasn't really addressed the issue or has dodged the question as to what the problem. Most of the Red Posts I've see as responses seem pretty cut & paste. Basically, I highly doubt you will get an answer, play ranked at your own risk, and if you still want to play league play normals for now at least until they release of the new beta client.

maybe you should try typing /remake at 3 min? idk just a thought. Seems to work for me.

I just checked your match history, first blood was at 2:52. Remakes aren't available if first blood is before 3 minutes.

there's 2 possible explanation for it:

  1. rito fixed remake so that first blood now actually prevents remakes (i've done a lot of remakes even after giving away first blood, and also have seen the enemy team remake after giving away first blood)
  2. the Kennen on ur team somehow counted as "connected" even tho he was not, and that can prevent remakes too (happened to me only once, and have seen it happen to enemy team only twice so far)
