[Crash] Game Randomly Crashes Frequently
I'm going to try to go in as much detail as possible for this bug report as I feel passionate about this issue and I want to do what I can to fix it.
I am having an issue where during a game (never during champ select or loading screen etc) my computer may randomly crash, causing me to have to restart my computer. I know that this issue has something to do with League of Legends because I play several other games such as Rust and CS:GO and I never have this issue with those games.
If it helps to go into more detail:
- Sometimes my screen will turn black for a few seconds and then the display will come back and nothing will have changed
- When it crashes, it is not instant. Instead, the FPS drops rapidly until it reaches 0 and the sound stops and plays the same sound over and over again
Now this may seem not too bad at first glance, it's a lot worse. The issue occurs much more commonly at the start of the game for reasons I don't know. Due to this, when I restart my computer, my team almost always remakes, despite my friend voting no and telling them that I am going to come back. This has resulted in me having several LeaverBusters (5,10,15 and 3x20). This bug has literally put me in 7 hours 30 minutes worth of LeaverBuster which I think is completely unfair. It has also recently given me a loss in one of my promos.
To fix this I have tried reinstalling League which did not work. This was causing so many issues that I even completely wiped my computer to try to fix it but once I installed League it was doing the exact same thing.
I have reason to believe that it is related to Nvidia Experience/Shadowplay. "Sometimes my screen will turn black for a few seconds and then the display will come back and nothing will have changed". Sometimes when they above phenomenon (not sure what word to use here) occurs, the Shadowplay status symbols (which tell you if you're recording and if your mic is on etc) become pixelated after my screen is no longer black. This leads me to believe that the issue has something to do with Nvidia Experience/Shadowplay as the glitch causes a change in them. Unfortunately, uninstalling them is not an option as they hold my graphics drivers and uninstalling them would result in many issues with the rest of my computer.
I'm not really sure what my entire computer build is because it is custom built but it runs on a GTX 960. If it really matters I'm sure I can find out what all the other components are.
In conclusion, I know that it is very unlikely that Riot will read this thread but this is an issue that has really been affecting my experience of League of Legends and I really have no idea how to fix it. Even if you aren't in association with Riot but you have a suggestion as to how to fix this as it seems to be exclusively me to have this issue, please do reply to this thread as I am open to all suggestions.
Thanks in advance and have a good day :)
