Has there been a change to the damage or armor formula possibly magic resist too.

Myself and a friend were trying to settle an argument about whether armor and magic resist have diminishing returns (i showed him the damage reduction formula) but he was not convinced .... so i went into play with masterys selected that would not change our armor or attack damage or provide any bonus damage on hit. we both selected Aatrox.

we found out something interesting ... my friend was using the lol wiki website (which i explained to him how they had made a mistake) which was doing fractional math incorrectly. and he used the calculator, and i used the known and published damage reduction formula of 100/(100+armor) = damage multiplier or if you prefer (1-damage multiplier) + 100% = HP multiplier to get EHP vs base damage.

well aatrox has 70 ad and i had 33 armor in our first trial. and i had 48 armor in our second trial. he predicted by wiki 16 hits, i predicted 14 we moved his attack speed as close as we could to 1 second with daggers for easy regen math and shockingly it killed in 13 hits even with regen.

There is more damage flying about than there should be by the presently understood damage formula ? was the damage formula changed ? is there something missing we might not have accounted for ? It seems to me that armor is presently suffering even more diminishing returns than it should as i had 730 HP and the attack floaters showed 47 damage in the 48 armor example which shouldnt kill till 15.5 swings even if you round UP assuming that the decimals are all counted or rounded up you still get 15.2 or 16 swings ...

Can anyone explain exactly what is going on ?

The first possible explanations are really stupid ones : some damages mastery ( press the attack, etc ), but I guess you couldn't have missed them, lethality, in runes or items - once again, it's easy to see and I don't think you'd have missed them either, and finally the Aatrox W, boosting his damages.

But all these explanations are not really satisfying, as I doubt you didn't took them into account. However, I do not think Riot changed the formula of the damage output, so I don't know ...

Well, first this is Report a Bug. As per the rules, this board is only for the submission of formal reports of bugs to be fixed, not for questions and discussions. Adding irrelevant or none bug post can only serve to hinder staff and hurt the community.

Second. No one can say what is going on because you did not show your work. You said various details but you did not give information necessary to reproduce what you attempted.

The Answer, for third. No, there has been no change in how armor functions. I even tested it again myself to confirm that. You two made an error somewhere.
