Lag/Freezing every time I ping

Not sure how to google this as "ping" typically refers to latency. Every time I ping in TFT (and League to a lesser extent) my client freezes for 3-10 seconds. I can bring up the ping radial menu just fine, but once I select a ping and release the mouse I freeze up. Happens when I reinstall/repair, even when I install to a different location.

This also happens in League, but it's usually a much shorter freeze.
