Yorick level 3 can only have 1 item
My yorick had 3 items. Upgraded to level 3 and he dropped 2, kept the thornmail.
Couldn't put any other items on him other than the thornmail.
2 Other items were:
The Magic resist item The cleave item

So what may have happened is if you placed him in the elemental rift on the map it will cause them to drop their items or at least 1 of them
