Items spawned on someone else's board, Was unable to get them

It was after wolves, i had received one item which spawned on top of my legend, I figured i was unlucky and thought nothing of it. But then in the next match 3 items flew in and landed on the opponents board I was playing on, I could interact with them but chose the leave them as I did not want to mess up placement in combat.

After the round the items did not follow me back to my board and remained on my opponents (I asked around and only myself and that opponent could see them)

The next time I fought him on his board I could no longer interact with the items as if they were not there, I'm fairly certain they were my items due to my previous points.

PS: Incase anyone is interested I still managed to win with 4 Wild 5 shapeshifter.
