3 Star Garen just disappears

Next to last match in TFT my 3 star Garen just disappears from my board after the match ends, and the game auto slots a 1 star kha'zix I had sitting around. I don't have any footage of this weird bug as TFT matches don't appear in match history, and aren't subject to replay.

There's an item that removes a Star level by an enemy champion. Not completely sure how it works.
