Game doesn't load very first carousel

Title explains it: the game does load, but the screen is blank (as in, the "island, podium" is loaded but it's blank with no players.) Then it just loads to my island with a random champion. I don't even get to pick. I've been having this issue ever since the game came out. Is there any fixes?
