I can't play TFT at all.

Is it only me who can't play TFT at all. You know the PLAY button next to the CLAIM button is gray, and it says unranked where it should say ranked mode or something.

Click the big play button on the top left of the screen like you're going to play a normal game of LoL, but instead of playing the normal game modes you can see TFT is now an option far to the right with Normal and Ranked as a selection.

It also says I'm disconnected from chat, attempting to reconnect permanently.

I figured it out. Click on play in the top left corner, then PVP. You should see the option there.

I had the same issue yesterday, but I figured it out after reading some discussions. Riot should work on their UI to prevent any issues like this in the future.

Click the Play button beside the LOL logo at the top left, then click the PvP button. TFT should be available on the farthest right option.

I am having the same issue where the play button is grey.
