Unit Upgrade Item Replacement (From Carousel)

Not sure if this is considered a bug or if it is intended, and I'm horrible at explaining it.. but i'll give it a try lol.

Long story short: getting the last unit from carousel to upgrade a unit to tier 3 replaces an item on the unit you are using (if said unit has 3 completed items already), with the item that came with the carousel unit.

Now let me explain cause that probably doesn't make any sense.

Say.. you have a tier 2 Vayne (It happens with any unit, not just Vayne) on the field. You also have a tier 2 Vayne on the bench, and 2 tier 1 Vaynes on the bench. When you pick a unit from the carousel, it has an item on it. (Duh.) And it also automatically upgrades the unit to the next tier if you have what is needed back at the board.

Now, this is where it messes up.. if the tier 2 Vayne on the field has 3 full completed items, one of them is replaced with the item component on the final Vayne you got from carousel which automatically upgraded your tier 2 Vayne on the field to tier 3 because you had 1 tier 2 and 2 tier 1's on the bench, thus turning the Vayne from carousel to tier 2, and the 3 tier 2's to tier 3.

Anyways, this bug (If it even is a bug) isn't so terrible because the item that is replaced goes to the inventory and can be put on another unit.. but definitely no fun because more than likely you'll end up with a useless component and be forced to build a different third item.

Also note that Vayne was ONLY an example. This happened to me twice with 2 different units. I don't even think Vayne was either of them. And it only happened twice because I have only been in that scenario twice. (Getting the final unit from carousel to complete tier 3). Not because it happens randomly.

Is this intended to happen or is this a bug? Should I just avoid grabbing a unit that will complete my tier 3 if it has a component on it that i don't want? Or is upgrading to tier 3 even with a bad item better than waiting to roll for a tier 3 but having the wanted items?

Sorry so long. I edited this for like 30 minutes changing things trying to make it make sense. Not sure how well I did. It's still confusing. Hopefully someone somewhere out there will be able to decode this message and translate it to English. Thanks in advance for any help and answers.

Automatic combining has its downsides. You're not the first one to notice or complain.

Personally I wish they'd set champion combining to manual. Make it Shift+Click and the game combines whatever champions into the one you chose.

Also in the case of item conflict, the player should get a box asking which one to replace. Maybe discard if that turns out to be exploitable.
