Stop Adjusting LP Gains it was working fine. Now I gotta play 2-3x more matches to get to gold.

LP gains are always dynamic. It's dependent on your MMR and your current ranking, in addition to comparing you to the opponents in the match (if matchmaking had to match you above or below your skill level).
You won't just perpetually climb at the same rate, you have an estimated skill level (your MMR) which you will be nudged towards with better or worse LP gains. Climbing will be slower the closer you get to your appropriate rank, and inversely it'll be easier to climb if you're ranked well below your MMR (in other words, it helps you get to where you belong and helps you stay there).
If you lose too many matches your MMR will start dropping and your LP gains will suffer. If you do better more consistently, your MMR will raise, and climbing will become easier (and dropping, harder).
