League of Learners

Hello all,

I'm new to this game. I've been playing a few months or so now. Just recently hit lvl 30. I've been reading a lot on the boards about new people not being able to enjoy the game because of toxic players, poor tutorials, smurfs, lvl 2 runes, masteries, etc. and all of these are pretty valid complaints. I'm not going to go into any of this in detail because there is ample discussion on the boards already. That being said, i've really enjoyed playing this game. I'm still new enough that i enjoy a 45 minute game that i lose as much as a 20 minute game where we win. Part of the fun of the game to me is exploring the different characters and item/mastery combinations. There are so many options to chose from it reminds me of the old Magic the Gathering slogan: never play the same game twice. I feel like that's what Riot is hoping to accomplish with season 5's 'strategic diversity' tagline. Anyway, to get to the point; i'm looking to put together a team. Well, more like a guild. A League of Learners, if you will. The focus of this group will be to use this thread, the in game friends list options (anyone interested feel free to add me and i'll add note "League of Learners") and any other means we can think of (facebook, website, etc) to meet other friendly, non-toxic players who seek to enjoy the game while learning and sharing tips with other new players. Older players who would like to join are also encouraged to share their wisdom with those of us just starting out. This group will encourage all players, new and old alike; to have patience with fellow players who try new or break the meta. Long games are encouraged. If there's one thing i've learned about 'smurfs' in this game it's that they have no patience. Pass the 20 minute mark and most will start complaining and issue the surrender vote. Basically, i aim to cause a bit of mischief. Our main goal is a war of attrition. By enjoying the company of the friendly community we will beat the toxic players simply by having a good time while they rage quit. So, come one, come all. Anyone interested in participating, please respond to this thread and we'll get this party started.
