If you get someone to duo with it's best to play a couple of draft games with them first else you'll just be putting yourself as a disadvantage as you'll be paired against higher mmr players with the equivalent of a random.
Good luck. And it's easy to fall into bronze first 10 ranked games. It's more about your personal performance in each game than how many you win. But winning is a factor also.
