Answers to your frist two questions can be found on our tournament page: http://thehadleycup.com/september16.html

What's the prize pool?

  • $55.00 spread out among the top three placements. Small, yes, but it is something.

Is there a free to sign up?

  • No.
  • It is the first tournament I am hosting under this name, so I am building legitimacy. I have built a database that smartly stores player's statistics through the tournament and can display them on the website. I will also be able to display team statistics as well. And the eventual goal is to have an overall statistics for players and teams who compete in multiple THCs.

Is the event fair?

  • Yes.
  • All eSport events are subject to the fairness of admin's following of rulings and their ability to communicate. This tournament is free to join, and we plan to use this opportunity to build a positive relationship with all players that participate by being as decisive and fair as possible.
  • All online eSport events that have a rank ceiling always run the risk of smurfs, especially LoL. This is why we impose a team average based on a third party MMR system, which better helps us detect potential smurfs. In the end, however, a lot of people smurf just so they can play with their friends. Our format is set up so a Diamond 2/3 can play competitively with their Plat friend since DynamicQ currently restricts that. We hope this type of format will combat smurfing by allowing a wider range of MMR and still retain a competitive tournament.
