Hey everyone, I am Seth "Spard" Gardner and I've been a competitive gamer for 10+ years. Between playing at the highest levels of Counter-Strike, Team Fortress and COD to running and leading a top 10 guild in World of Warcraft... I have developed the skills necessary to coach and manage a serious league of legends team.

My philosophy is that there are three things necessary to be successful outside of individual skill... 1. Effective Communication 2. Decisive Shot Calling 3. Team Work. These are the pillars to success in which I will help develop with the players who make the roster.

Currently I am holding tryouts for anyone Diamond + played in the Top, Support and Jungle positions. I will be rotating people in and out of scrims until I find what I am looking for. Scrimmages will occur over the next few weekends on both Saturday and Sunday starting on 1/8/16 - 1/9/16.

United 5 players are known to be very vocal about relaying pertinent information, dedicated to improving their play both individually and in a team setting and open to receiving feedback so that adaptations and improvements can be made.

If selected to play on the team please understand that you will be committing 15+ hours a week training with/for the team. In an ideal world where everyone on the team can commit 20+ hours to training per week, the training schedule would break down like this:

  • 10 Hours of Team Scrimmages per week: This is where we do ranked 5’s or scrimmage other teams at a similar level to our play
  • 6 Hours of Targeted solo queue: Targeted solo queue practice is where you play to improve your skill on champions the team wants to run. These champions could be what's currently in meta or champions identified as going to become meta with impending changes.
  • 2 Hours of Scrim Result Analytics: This is where we review games that we identified as “problematic”. The goal is to identify what the team needs to improve/focus on for the upcoming week.
  • 2 Hours of Individual Coaching: As a player on Team United 5, you will be responsible for recording your targeted solo queue games so that we can analyze and improve your game play via 1 on 1 coaching sessions.

If you’ve made it past the wall of text to this point, then I am assuming you are interested in trying out for Team United 5! Please respond to this reddit post with the following information so that I may keep track of the contacts.

For coaches and analysts that are interested in Team United 5

Team United 5 is unique in the sense that we want to take young, open minded and mechanically gifted players to coach them up into a dominant and cohesive team. Our barrier to entry for the players is Diamond elo and what we look for from our players are mechanics, personality, propensity to learn/adapt and overall game IQ. Our coaching staff for Team United 5 is dedicated to helping the players enable themselves to make the best decisions possible while in game. Our philosophy is that young players who are dedicated to progressing their play will, over time, increase their mechanical skill. Our emphasis when coaching these players is more about macro level decisions, identifying win conditions, how to play from behind, pick/ban strategies and how to play around the information that is available to the team at any given time. What we are looking for from our coaching staff are people who have a high game IQ and understand that they are here to help cultivate an environment that is productive and conducive to continual progression. Coaches often will put in the same or more hours than the players when it comes to analyzing game trends, reviewing vods, individual coaching sessions, etc. but we do it for the love of the game and the team. If interested in what I've said about our coaching opportunities, please add "Spard" in game and let him know you are interested in more information about becoming a u5 coach.

Note: Please give me 24-48 hours to contact you after you post your info :)
