Looking to start ranked at some point....

I do wanna do ranked but i wanna do it with a team that makes me feel comfortable. No randoms. I just want to find a group to help me with my fears of ranked. Doing it alone is a pain. Would rather be with a team that gets along than one that doesn't....i want to be with a group of people who can help each other out instead of arguing. If we lose then so what? We play another to win. Nobody is perfect. So if you guys are chill as hell & wanna come together as a team then let me know. No toxic people. Just cool ass people that knows that you win some & lose some. We can try to progress together.

Imo the best thing to do is jump in solo. I know its kinda scary but really its one of those things where you get thrown in and see if you can swim

Just the toxic people get to me. They argue & cost the match. I've done 5 & stopped. Wanted to start again. I was with one friend at the time. Seems scarier to do solo :/ But i get your point.

Well as for toxic ppl, ive become so used to them, that the dumb shit they say barely affect me anymore. If needed, just mute them if they get obnoxious. I wouldnt run with a 5 man as you wont be playing very often due to conflicting schedules. Duos is always nice if youre looking for a sherpa

I quit ranked in season 4 for the same reason you stated above. I had some god awful experiences and ended silver 5 0 lp. At the start of season 5, i decided to take ranked more seriously. The best thing to do is to pick up a handful of champs and spam them.

Here is the thing, if you go in with a group of people ( who btw will be randoms ) and win games, your MMR goes up. That means now you are going to be against slightly harder opponents in the next game but with the same team mates. As you continue to win you will continue to go against harder opponents, again with the same team mates.

Now if you go in solo and win games the next game you get slightly harder opponents but you also get slightly better team mates. Keep winning games and you eventually get significantly harder opponents but you also get much better team mates.

See the handicap of doing premades with randoms?

If it is your first season and you are new to the game or new to MOBAs in general just try to place in silver so you get the border. Going for gold in your first season will just make the experience more stressful than it is worth. If you want to play with a group first play normals with them and build synergy. While doing this also use http://www.lolnexus.com/ to see what rank the players are that you are going against and then you can gauge how you are doing with the people you are playing with before doing ranked. When I form groups I keep track of things like if my top laner is P2 and the enemy laner is D4 and if my top laner does decent in laning phase but kinda falls apart during mid/late game then I know that he might be a decent team mate if we use comms and I help him navigate those parts of the game. But if my top laner is P2 and is getting stomped really hard by a D4 and then not good in laning phase then I know that the P2 is more than likely just outclassed by the D4 and then I'd be less likely to want to play with them in ranked.

You can use http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Prince+RyLo+ to look at the games you've already played. In your normals it looks like you mostly go against mid bronze to mid silver with the occasional low bronze or low gold in the mix.

Just jump into SoloQ and learn to (a) not talk in chat, (b) mute people at their first irritating comment, (c) use pings. It's the only way.

Season 7 ranked queues are going back to solo/duo. So the "flex" queue is going to be for premades/ranked teams.

Hey, don't be scared of playing ranked! Yes, there are a couple vocal jerks out there, but a lot of people (in my experience) just keep quiet and try to win. Like a guy mentioned earlier, just pick up a couple champions that you enjoy playing and spam them in normals until you've played every meta matchup in your lane with them.

I just started ranked early this season and went 2 wins 8 losses in my placements; got placed Bronze II. Played them all as support (would not recommend). Bronze ADCs do not appreciate bard support (which happened to be the one champion I decided to stick to). Still, I'm currently Gold I with I think 40ish LP and 85% of my games as bard support. While it's nice counterpicking the enemy or picking to fit a certain team comp, in the end, your skill on that champion is gonna matter much more than either of those.

If you ever want to practice some champions in normals, hit me up. I love helping out another one-trick :3

Also, check out my friend's discord group "Momentum Gaming". We're not the best gamers, nor the most attractive, but we have women and cookies a lot of fun and usually some people playing normals/ranked throughout the day. Great place to make new friends! Here is the boards post if you want to check us out (discord link is in the post): http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/team-recruitment/qYVxNiM4-momentum-gamingc-theres-a-method-to-our-madness
