Hello! My name is TCD Guy, captain and top laner for Team Chasing Dreams. We're an amateur eSports organization who has played in their Bronze/Silver League for the past year, and we are now turning our sights on the Premiere League for their Gold/Plat division. All of our members finished Gold or higher last season, and we are looking for a few high elo players to assist us in preparing for the Qualification Tournament for the G/P Premiere League in mid January.

In order to do this, we are looking for several people with experience in teamplay to help us improve as a team. As such, we are looking for people who can fill these positions:

  • Head Coach

The head coach is the only position that requires you being online with the team at all times. The head coach oversees the rest of the staff along with myself, making sure that everyone is doing their jobs, filling in for them if they are unable to complete them. You will also be helping organize and plan out our night practice schedules, it is half your decision, half mine, on how much time should be spent on different methods of practice, be it Flex Queue, Scrimming with other teams, from CompeteLeague or elsewhere, reviewing replays of previously played games, or drills in custom games.

You will also be in charge of constructing and coordinating team compositions, as well as recommending changes to our players' champion pools as the metagame changes. Overall, you will be working in part with our roster to make sure our team is consistent in every way possible.

  • Assistant Coach/Analyst

Because the Head Coach's job is so big, as they will be helping manage many different things, I would like to have at least two assistant coaches to help with analyzing replays, and helping our players in improving their individual roles, to help them in improving champion mastery, game mechanics, and anything else that our players may need help with. If you do not have the schedule to help every night, but still want to help a team improve, this is the role for you!

Should our head coach be unavailable for a practice, one of the acting assistant coaches must take over their role for the duration of their absence.

  • Spreadsheet Manager

We would like to also have someone who can track the data of our team through the management of an official team spreadsheet. The SpreadSheet manager must work with the captain and head coach to track individual and team data, updating it after every practice, scrim, and official game day. We need someone to specialize in this so we can have a constant reference to where and what needs to be improved on, and have a constant resource to look back to when deciding on what to focus our practices on.

If you are interested in this, please respond to this post with the answers to the following bullet points:

  1. Your IGN

  2. Your rank

  3. Your availability

  4. The role you are applying for

  5. Previous experience

  6. Why you want to work with an amateur league team.

  7. What you think is most important in improving as a team.

Thanks, and I look forward to working with you!

Just as a heads up, in order to get max results in the fastest fashion, you should give head coach 100% of decisions on everything. With that said, the head coach's role should actually be stated as follows:

  • Runs draft phase
  • Increases team capacity to work with each other and understand each other
  • Create dynamic practice drills to support what the coach is teaching the team
  • A full curriculum that teaches the team the fundamentals of team play, as well as developing a team identity.
  • Use the resources of the assistant coach and analysts to gain as much information as needed to develop at least 5 strategies for league games (yes, 5 per game).
  • Last but not least: Affect the player's lives in a positive way to help them cognitively grow as well as develop as a team.

Assistant Coach would be as follows:

  • Assists the Head Coach in day to day activities
  • Assist the Head Coach in the running of drills (the head coach should only have to watch the games and then relay the information that is needed)
  • Collect the information from the analysts to help assist the HC address the team and keep them developing at a timely manner.

Analysts would be split into two categories - Data and Gameplay: Data:

  • Create, run, and supervise draft sheets, information sheets, timer sheets, and all the calculations needed in keeping the team in a winning performance.

Gameplay:

  • Assist the Coaches with analyzing the games and adding another voice to help the Head Coach collect all information needed to progress the team.

Everything else mentioned is the job of a fucking manager, not a coach or analyst.

Another heads up: the work load you are requesting needs to be backed up with a few thousand dollars a month for a coach of that caliber.

Your welcome.

Sincerely,

A retired Challenger Coach
