Im a girl. Im new. Im bad. Help.

Barbwired Mind··1 votes·2,704 views

So a friend of mine introduced me to this game sometime earlier this year and it's been a while. i made the mistake of going into ranked too early, but i feel.. utilized now. Im.. Eh, okay.

Okay? no i suck dick at this game. really, really bad at this game. i don't understand any of it. Do people teach around here? I feel pretty lonely, and i think i understand the concept of trolls now. I get a lot of them down here.. I don't think it's possible to really learn anything when playing in bronze- Or at least from anything but your own mistakes.

I'm really reaching a hand out here. I don't have many people on my friends list, so far there isn't really anybody to play with.

(I'm also looking for a team.. If anyones willing to invite. < 3!)

And I'm a guy...?

I've rarely, if ever, seen a post start with "I'm a guy." Don't see how gender is relevant, sorry. :/

People -do- teach. Learn to how to record your games (I like na.op.gg, you just have to pop open your browser and tell it to remember your game while you're in the loading screen. If you're on a super-crappy computer you can use your cell phone to start recording without opening your PC browser which is good for people like me :)) If you have recorded games there's a ton of people in high ELO who you could ask to analyze them. They may or may not get to it... most people offering free coaching do it so they can get known and become a paid coach, so they do free coaching only as time allows, but if you put in the effort to submit recorded ranked games, you're likely to get some help. Also, yeah, streamers and youtubers. On youtube I watch Gbay99, Redmercy, PhyLoL, FoxdropLoL, Zadarkus, and Anklespankin. Some are more about entertainment (hi Ankle!) and some are more about instruction. And some just have cool trivia (hi Redmercy!). It doesn't hurt at all to watch pro games ( http://na.lolesports.com/vods/ ), and if you search the name of almost any pro-gamer on twitch they'll have a stream. Or you can just poke around on twitch, it does have the option to look for all 'league of legends' streams. I find recorded videos on youtube a little more focused and instructive though than just tuning into someone playing the game on twitch and hoping they say something insightful.

They can. And if you pay a coach, they will make the time to spectate your game when you are playing. Or you can use tools to record the specator view of a game yourself, either to review so you can see how the game -really- went or to forward to people who might help you. What I like about op.gg is that it records the game on the site, and you download it later, no stress or extra equipment or anything on your own computer.

Can we stop with all the bs? Aside from the possible bait trolling from a giggling 12 yr old, if you got to lvl 30, you should have a basic understanding of the game. And gold lvl mechanics are generally your natural gaming mechanics. So if you placed in bronze it's likely that you're just not cut out for it. I refuse to believe that any gamer that truly cares about the game they're playing will place into bronze and never get out. If you're not good at a game, you're likely not having fun, resulting in the stopping of playing that game.

Yet here you are begging for help. It may be my opinion, but I have strong feelings about this topic.

Anyway, you mentioned that you were introdiced this year, yet you've been playing since Season 3.

No one's salty. I'm just stating my opinion on the matter. You may be bronze because that's where you belong.

You also skipped right over the fact you've been playing since Season 3.

Bronze in season 3, about 400 ranked games in season 4, still bronze, and 350 games in season 5, still bronze.

So, you didn't just start playing this year.....aaaand, you're telling me that after hitting lvl 30 and playing over 800 ranked games, that you still don't know what you're doing?

If that's not a troll, then I will never troll anyone ever again.

Thats cool guys, i've been watching some my self like FoxDrop etc, but so far i feel getting help in game seems to be the best solution for me. We all have a play style. I also have some short term memory issues so watching a video won't just get lodged in my head like that. i need more practice.

then like you said, just keep playing. Focus on getting to know the champions first. The first step to getting better is to know how the champion abilities work. Once you have that down, you can then focus on other aspects of the game like map awareness and lane mechanics.

thats kinda why i'm asking for help. I'm almost past the point. But being in bronze.. I think it's called elo hell because unless you can carry your team by your self, you can't rely on anybody to help you or teach you shit. It's every man for them selves and so far my best.. lanes? um..spot? is supp and jung. Which are the 2 most unforgiving roles in the game. I mean i can d everything else but it's been a while i feel i've given up. there will always be somebody better out there and i can't help but depress my self thinking about it.

Then you need to just play to enjoy the game. Be friendly and spread positive energy. It's really only hard to get out because of the smurfs that play. You can still carry as a jungler but it's hard, especially if you're new. It takes time. Just give it time.

kinda hard to be positive when none else will. Or listen.. in my defensive i suppose it's just better to not say a word and mute everyone. i enjoy the game of course too, otherwise i wouldn't be looking for advice. or help.

That is indeed a good idea to mute everyone. A friend of mine does that. I would just do that too, but I like talking to people and seeing what they have to say etc. Up to you. I'm sure things will look up. Things always get better given time and effort. So don't give up okay? :)

lanes? um..spot? is supp and jung. Which are the 2 most unforgiving roles in the game.

'Position' is what I'd usually say. (Assassin or Tank are roles, Jungle and Support are positions. ADC is kinda both... ) Jungle and Support are not actually any more forgiving or unforgiving than any other role. They are, however, the two roles that require the most awareness of strategy and the whole map, that require -you- to be the one that knows what is going on and pings the team to take objectives or fall back. The are also the two roles that in Bronze especially are usually played -awfully-. If you can play a good support or jungle, you can absolutely dictate the pace of many games. Of -course- it's not as straightforward as 'kill lane opponent, snowball, carry game', but those 'straightforward' solo lanes are facing opponents trying to do the same. If you're going to play jungle + support you need to know all about vision, objectives, map pressure, what is worth trading for what, and be constantly aware of everything going on on the whole map. You are right though that you cannot rely on other teammates to teach you anything - they may try, but likely as not they will be wrong. After all, they are in bronze too just like you -- and me. I prefer to rely on what I hear from reputable diamond or better youtubers or streamers than on what some random bronzie in a game with me says. If he hasn't been able to climb out himself, his advice is unlikely to help -me- climb out.

Most of the stuff isn't champ-specific, or even patch-specific, they talk about improving your play in a broader sense (i.e. vision/map/lane control, prioritizing objectives, last hitting ect) making you better at league overall. I dont think this information is going to be outdated any time soon.

what if i said i was aware of this, and was looking for something newer that i hadn't heard of. These are the basics. I need tricks that aren't so well known. Plus it's bronze. just cause i know the basics doesn't mean the rest of my team will. and as seen above, you can't rely on them. I feel if i dragged through shit and into high silver i wouldn't have such a hard time doing things on my own anymore. Safe perhaps. I've admitted I'm bad ages ago. how much lower can i go than b5..

Thats why i linked those two specific channels. They have tips I haven't seen anywhere else. Thinks like countering playstyles, or OP skins, or raid bosses, or body language, or dying. Little tips that are easy but unusual.

My advice is to play some ranked, and if you find someone in those games who is both friendly and somewhat good, duo with them. Make them your friend, because if they're friendly, they're more likely to help you out. You could also ask them to explain why they do what when it goes well and such, idk.

Also does anybody know why I'm logged into my OCE account when this is the NA forums...

I have two suggestions (okay, maybe more than two):

  1. Play normals

  2. Find the champions you love. Veigar Forever <3

  3. Learn the roles (in general)

  4. Watch youtube players: I would suggest watching "Redmercy" and "Foxdrop" to get a feel for what the general basics are.

  5. Don't worry about LCS Big plays (dont worry about showboating)
