Can Swain just wear his bloody coat?

I legitimately don't understand this particular art choice. Mostly because we have a very pragmatic and intelligent man - and we establish this thoroughly - and instead of just wearing a cloak or something that actually makes sense or just straight up wearing his coat like, you know, a coat, he's got it draped over himself... why? Like, it wouldn't even reliably stay on well like that.

Is it a fashion statement? What's the point? Why would he care a particularly large amount about being fashionable? Why even would that be considered fashionable? Would he also wear his coat tied around his waist like he's a 90's kid?

######Please don't actually have him do that that would be silly you're already planning to do that aren't you god damn it come on.

I would assume it would destroy the sleeves if used magic with in on all the way.

Also is a little warm this time of year and he was to feel the breeze hahah

It is drawing from an older fashion. The Nazi Goerring was photographed wearing his coat like that, and there is at least one painting of Napoleon doing so as well.

Frankly, I like it. It’s the only actually unique thing about his new design.

I assume that means you don't watch anime. So you must not have seen or heard of this trope.

Does it make sense? Hell no. But it is cool looking.

That last joke makes me hope for an Academy Swain skin.

He literally doesn't have a corporeal arm on one side. Keep in mind this is Swain while he's fighting, when he's commanding he likely has his coat on normally, although with one sleeve still loose (no arm)

From an artistic/fashion perspective, I like the coat draped over his shoulders.

The only problem I have with it is when he's moving around the map. My eyes focus on the flapping of the arms during his movement. Honestly even his walking stance/pace is awkward. I'm hoping I get used it and it's not just actually off on the model.
