Changing up DJ Sona's music.

A few years back I had been playing a ton of stuff like L4D2 and Killing Floor, and pretty quickly stumbled upon the fact you could very easily replace the audio files for certain sounds and music tracks to whatever you wanted if you just make a copy of the song you want, transcode it to the right format, rename it, and of course replace it. (Killing Floor even had it's own built in, although unfinished MP3 player you could mess around with)

So would we be able to do that with DJ Sona's songs? Obviously there might be problems, like how whenever she casts an ability it seems to play a certain part of the song, but if someone was diligent enough that would be an easy fix to make.

Of course the other problem is how the songs actually work. Either each song that plays passively through the game isn't the full song and is just a looped section of it until you start using your abilities, or it's the song normally, looping when it ends, that jumps to certain sections on ability use. If the former it would take a lot of extra work for someone to put in their own music and have it not sound like a trainwreck, and if the later a similar problem might occur if the way the game is set up to play the music ends up just cutting the song short if it exceeds the normal audio file length.

Would a staff member be able to give some explanations on if this would work or not, or maybe even just another user having already tried it and found out?

The way the files are now with their spiffy new "tamper free" audio system, not likely. I want custom announcers damn it.

That being said, if they did open this functionality up it would be client-side only; people opting in to listen to the music sharing would hear what is installed on their clients.
