Engineer the hextech hammer with 10 gemstones, found as random drops in Hextech Chests. Like other Gemstone skins, Hextech Poppy may also drop as a skin shard.
I'm Level 112, with 350 Mastery, been playing since long before hextech crafting. Since the introduction of the quest system, I've completed all possible quests and always claim the box rewards with my tokens. I've gotten ONE gem...
Except, out of the 75+ chests I've opened, I've never once, gotten a gemstone. Seems legit riot. Remove chests giving you champion shards as well. Leveling up does that just fine. Rework this system please.
I love Poppy. I play her a lot. I'm very happy to see her get a new skin. I have 7 gemstones. I have only ever had 7 gemstones. I got all of them spending something stupid like $200 on the april fools event this year. I have not gotten a gemstone since then. Keep in mind that those had a 1.5x chance of dropping gemstones.
Seriously, I love these skins, but Riot cannot keep making them gemstone exclusive if they keep making them at this rate. I know one person who put probably 2000 hours after hextech crafting was introduced and is still waiting for enough gemstones for soulstealer vayne. People have gifted her tons of boxes, including me.
Riot should really reconsider some things about the gemstones. The rest of the crafting system is pretty great, actually. However, there's no doubting that the gemstones are more than flawed.
Can we stop with these silly exclusive skins? There are enough already. I know they get you a ton of money with people hunting for gemstones, but it just screams desperate and goes against everything that made me fall in love with Riot.
Want to trade my Gemstone Vayne (boring skin) for Gemstone Poppy. Can Riot implement a one time Gemstone trade kind of like the first RP refunds?
Finally! Since the whole problems with this skin and Hextech Ali, I've been waiting for its release so what feels like forever!
But alas, my Hextech Poppy is here now and my gemstones have a purpose! Come to me, my lovely mythic skin; come to Big Boii.
I have absolutely terrible luck with special RNG items. Out of all the chests i've opened, I have a grand total of one gem. I'm a poppy main but I'll never be able to get this skin. :\
I'm more interested in the fact that NO ONE has mentioned that she is holding a Voidling in her hand.
Hextech Malzahar confirmed? Malz mains everywhere will cry tears of pure joy.

Main, only having 2 gems after years of playing, I'm sad to say, I'll probably never get this skin "the only skin of poppys I don't own" is kind of depressing.
I have literally never recieved a gem. I'm very unhappy that all these awesome skins come out that i'll never be able to get to because of some randomly generated mess that has been created to further shame me in the community. Its pretty aweful becuase i would love to show my riot pride with awesome skins like these.**Please Riot, look into the gemstone system. **

I have played since season two and plenty after hextech crafting came out. I have only ever gotten one gemstone. I bought a few chests during arpil fools as well. I wonder how many players will even be able to get this.
Cool so another skin I'll never get. Seriously take this lootbox exclusive garbage out of the game. Actually this lootbox trash is why I stopped supporting the game in the first place. Why would I want to pay money to get another duplicate?
Yea, I normally wouldn't blow $200+ trying to get these gemstones because christ it's expensive ... but i'm too big of a Poppy fan to not obtain this skin. Finally happy that it's out.
Also Remember though, with new rewards, you can get gemstones for free, it just takes time, through earned chests and guaranteed one every 50 levels at and after level 150, and every 25 levels at and after level 400. So in all, to get the gemstones, it is very much grind and luck intensive. In my year and a half of playing, ive gotten 3 gemstones, currently at level 96. So i mean, some people just have a lot of luck. My friend has spent thousands of dollars on league (over 3k)(compared to my measly maybe 200) over the years hes been playing, and he opens up duplicates of ultimate skins that he has, all from chests, to date hes gotten (roughly) 3 Spirit Guard Udyr, 5 Pulsefire Ezreals, and 2 Elementalist Lux. Another friend of mine also got hextech annie from a chest, and my cousin just bought dreadnova darius for 10 gemstones. I, to date, have not gotten a single Ultimate or Mythic (gemstone) skin or skin shard. So yeah, I'm Really Unlucky.

For everyone who has come down here to discuss how mean Riot is for adding another hextech exclusive item, I just want you to hear this. I have hunted gemstones every time they have events that increase the chance to get them. With that, I have had much success. I'm not saying it has been cheap to get them, but much better than buying 40 crates and opening them only to get 20 skins I already own. MY ADVICE: whenever they offer a bundle that includes 1x Gemstone, GET IT! It has added up like cray cray for me. I've gotten enough for the hextech annie, poppy, and ward skins. I'm not saying it'll happen overnight, but if you grab one bundle every event for the next couple months, you'll have yourself a brand new, shiny, gemstone exclusive skin.
Why would they release a skin like this, when the gem stone/loot system is sooo bad, like it punishes one tricks, and they know how popular poppy is, this seems scummy? can they even make money from this?
Now dont get me wrong this poppy skin is amazing but B**** 13000= $100 for 1 gem stone who has money like that and you need 10 of them for poppy i understand she's mystic but this is straight up unobtainable.
I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES AS A POPPY MAIN TO GET THAT SKIN*[poppy-wink]*

im lvl 91 been playing since season 1.5 and ive only gotten 1 gemstone since its been out
Poppy looks a bit unstable in the artwork, like shes about to try to do something crazy.
i never knew gemstones existed. the poppy skin comes out and i already know i need it. craft it with 10 gemstones dint seem as impossible as i now understand it to be. it can be expensive and disappointing buying crates hoping for gems. my accounts pretty old, and i dont think ive ever seen one. just a picture with 0 on it:(
My question is: To the left of poppy, hextech Ziggs? right hextex Nasus(or did alistar lose some weight)?
