I’m honestly glad atleast the experience is rewarding for someone lol, and thanks for presenting your point of view in a nice way instead of being really mean about it. However, please try to understand how toxic these prestige points are.
As you did admit, these prestige skins are locked behind a pay wall, rather than one of skill. Yeah, so are all the other skins, but the other skins are priced so as to be available to everyone. They are a way for each individual player to have more fun and express themselves. If I have a cool skin, I feel cool, and I appreciate seeing other skins in the game as a play. Most importantly, they are accessible to everyone in some degree if the player so chooses, and feel reasonable and attainable. Enter prestige points.
Prestige points alienate the vast majority of the player base in exchange for money, which makes riot look really bad and greedy. Furthermore, riot has failed to respond to the decently large outcry at the bottom of every post they make about prestige points, further alienating the community. Such and expensive skin also creates an elite class of those in game (this is just psychology here: a certain group of people get to just, essentially, show off their wealth in game. Whether you like it or not that’s the effect) who have the $125 skin and those who don’t. I see a prestige skin in game, I don’t go “cool skin”, I go “ohhh whoop-de-freaking-do, he has a million dollars to burn, lookit him”. That just hurts the player base in all ways.
I understand your point about ‘whales’, but prestige points as a concept are simply toxic and are harmful to the image of riot games, player morale, community health (which is already trash in-game), and the future of league.
