Faces of League: Pax East Day 2
We hear awesome player stories every day at PAX East, from friends who role swap to lane together, to a solo gamer who found a new community of friends through the game.
We’re excited to continue our coverage of some of those stories for Day 2:
“Mike is quite the interesting League of Legends character. We try to figure out why he does the things that he does, almost like a Freudian experiment, but it never seems to work out. I try to be nice most of the time, but we have a friend who thinks crucifying him is the way to teach him.
I actually just leveled a second account to 30 and I’m going to do my promos solo to see where I place. We have a running bet that if I place higher than Silver 5 then our Platinum friend has to support me for twenty games.
If our friends do a bet or anything, I never lose. Put me under pressure and I will not disappoint.”

“Ramon started playing league before me, but because he didn't have too many people to play with, he stopped. I got another group of friends that started playing league, and I was a little scared at first since it’s a super competitive game and I take a lot of time to learn. When I told him I was playing, he got excited and started playing with me.
He’s normally a jungle main, but I wanted to play support so he started playing ADC with me. I know it’s not his main role, but he was trying to help me out. I was always worried about engaging, like ‘If I engage, we die,' and he told me, 'If you die, don’t worry about it. Just enjoy the game.'
We’re slowly working up to hopefully make Gold this season, but we’ll see!"

"I’ve made so many friends from League. There were people that I knew but we never really talked because we didn’t think we had a lot in common. Once we figured out that both us played League, we’d start playing games together, and now there’s always a vibrant group ready to jump into a lobby.
Before I played League, most of the games I played were solo or online WiFi, but I live with three other girls who all play League. One day they made me a deal to try the games I play if I tried League.
Everyone else was at least Level 20 when I was Level 1, so I kept feeding. But I’m a competitive person who didn’t want to feed so I learned Anivia and played her over and over. With her passive, I felt like I was dying half as many times as normal!"
