Riot Returns to PAX

The annual return of PAX West is fast approaching, and with it the chance to revisit an event that’s near and dear to our hearts at Riot. Eight years ago, League made its public debut at PAX, and it’s been our privilege to return several times since to celebrate the continued growth of the League community.

This year, we’re keeping the focus on the community with our headline event - a one-night party (Friday, 9/1) at Showbox SoDo, open to all PAX attendees and co-hosted with a collection of your favorite community creators and personalities. Expect swag, epic cosplay, a whole mess of games, and some never before seen League-themed side projects created by Rioters. We’ll have music throughout, all leading up to an incredible surprise guest performance at the end of the night. Stay tuned for updates on the Facebook event, and plan to show up early!

At the convention itself, any and all cosplayers & crew are welcome to drop by the Cosplay Lounge for some rest or quick repairs. Also, keep your eyes peeled for this year’s featured League cosplay, as a familiar character roams the floor to celebrate a special surprise - announcing Neo PAX Sivir!

PAX attendees will find a Neo PAX Sivir skin code in their swag bag, but players worldwide will also be able to share the experience - for the rest of 2017, Neo PAX Sivir will be available for 10 gemstones exclusively through the Loot system! Owners of the original PAX Sivir skin will also automatically receive both Neo PAX Sivir and a special border for their OG skin. Check out all the details here.

you guys should just add the skins we cant obatin anymore (black alistar) to loot system or the honor system

I disagree. It would be so rare that it wouldn't matter. It's not like they did anything special to get it anyways... These aren't victorious skins were talking about.

Yeah, that really sucked. There was like, three Rioters there but it was pretty clear they weren't there for Company Representation.

Props to Rioters Jynx and Swimbananas (I could swear there was three) for showing up though, and also taking the time to make a survey asking if we want Riot to show up again (hell yeah I want that!)

Thanks for calling me out! It was great meeting you at PAX East! The 3rd person was Jess F, the leader of the CSP team. She was wearing my Teemo hat, if that helps remind you.

Every year we take some time to figure out what we want to do events wise. In 2016, we chose to go hard at PAX East with the reveal of the RiftWalk and Thresh. This year we chose PAX West. For 2018 and beyond, we're still exploring and figuring out what we may want to do. If we do choose to attend future PAX events, we'll be sure to announce it on our regular channels.

If you want a similar Dark Cloak, head to King Richard's Faire in Massachusetts and look behind the Tournament area for Threads of Time. Bring your wallet though, mine cost like 250$ (probably more, don't have the exact receipt and there was a tax on it.)

There's other cool fantasy stores there including two Staff stores nearby and various jewelry vendors, perfect if you want to do a fantasy cosplay but not sure where to get costume commissions (again though, bring your wallet, the really high-quality stuff costs an arm and a leg x.x)

Atleast PAX East got something... while PAX South continues to receive neglect. Pretty sure I typed a hefty complaint in the survey I received heh.. an AMD station with League gameplay just was not enough and down right (darius) disappointing. But hey, a goody bag for winning a game with an AMD mousepad and shirt, cant beat that...........

I completely agree. I went to the first PAX South and one of the biggest reasons is that Riot was supposed to have a large presence there. I was hoping for some cool swag like a cool button or even a chance at a skin, but that would have been extra. Mainly I was looking forward to an actual panel with possible reveals or real insight into the game/upcoming changes, and there were two big panels planned. What I got was basically a drawn out summoners showcase talk. And to make matters worse, Riot cancelled the other scheduled panel. No swag at all. Was highly disappointed. The rest of PAX was fun, but it was a major bummer that the biggest draw of PAX South for me was a complete dud.

I loved the presence at PAX East for many years. The stage/megabooth was always packed and fun. Heading to PAX South, and I really wish Riot would be there.

What is BS about PAX is the tickets are sold out 7 months in advanced. They need to stop selling tickets all in one day, instead release a set amount each month giving everyone a equal chance of buying a ticket. I never get to go to PAX West because of this.

You need to follow PAX's Twitter account in order to be able buy tickets. They do it the way they do in order to minimize the number of scalpers taking tickets away from the general public.

Monday is the day no one wants to go because LOL events on SAT and SUN. You are obviously working for the company, I have tried endlessly for years they dont sale them in groups instead its all at once and the best days are gone before people like me have a chance to purchase the tickets.

Pax Sivir is easily her best skin and in my opinion, one of the top 3 best skins in the game. BUT, PAX Twisted Fate is by far the best skin ever made by riot. When will we be able to get PAX Twisted Fate or even a recolor like Sivir got on this case?

Yep! If you have a badge for any of the days, you can go to the party! Just make sure you have your badge picked up before the party, as that is your entry to the event!

That's a shame :/ I started PAX in 2014 I think and I had previously seen only 1 pro game in my life. Ever since I've been itching for more League content at PAX considering I dedicate myself every year to come back. A shame that the only community event happening this year and people under 21 can't even join who are proud to be at least involved in the community. Years ahead as mentioned is still a toss-up and it's kind of saddening for someone like me at least.

I really hope that Riot will have a real presence at PAX South this coming January. I went to the first PAX-South, and Riot's presence was lack luster and misleading at best. Yall cancelled one of the two panels yall scheduled, and the one yall did do was very inane. Basically a drawn out Summoners Showcase talk. Hoping that this year will be better.
