Rotating game mode queue now live!

From the original clone-tastic One For All to the frenetic manatee magic of Ultra Rapid Fire, featured game modes provide unique spins on the classic League formula. It’s time to kick off the next game mode in the rotation: Legend of the Poro King is now live!

As a refresher on the mode, let’s go over the basics:

  • When you jump into a match, you’ll be joined by two poro pals in your quest to call forth and aid the majestic Poro King
  • The Poro King is a mega-classy super minion that heals your team, regenerates mana, and deals AoE damage while handing out royal beatdowns to enemy towers
  • The King will serve as a sieging dynamo for you until he is killed by the enemy team in a regicide most foul
  • Activate Poro Toss once to toss your teeny poro pal across the map, if the lil fella hits a target, you can reactivate Poro Toss to Poro Dash, which will send you soaring towards an unlucky enemy
  • Land 10 Poro Tosses as a team and the Poro King himself will plop down to begin his royal wreckery
  • Once you or your team has summoned the Poro King, activate To The King! To transform into one of the king’s loyal (fluffy) subjects and fly to his side

Don’t forget you can ping the King to coordinate sieges with him or assaults on his royal person. Just as in any rotating queue game mode, we’ve specially tuned Champion Mastery so you can earn points in the mode. You’ll also be able to earn keys for your wins and loot chests for your (or your premade’s) S­-, S, and S+ games.

Legend of the Poro King is now available and lasts through the evening on Monday (we’ll shut it down very early Tuesday morning--usually between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM).

We’ll be trying out different things with the rotating game mode queue over the next few months, changing the mode cadence or what modes are available. We’re looking for your feedback as we go, so let us know. GLHF, and we’ll see you on the snowy battlefield of Legend of the Poro King!

I am sad... Summer is the time when a lot of people get to play the most and Rito doesn't give us what we want. URF URF URF URF URF URF URF Ultra Rapid Fire man. (I also really enjoy Doom Bots and BMB, but I wish for URF more)

So much complaining about not having URF. It's a bit overrated in my opinion, but to each their own. I will be over the moon happy when I get to play Nemesis Draft again. I love that game mode! Thanks Riot!

I don't get why Rito doesn't let us play U.R.F. There is literally no reason. The only reason they gave is that if we played it too often it would get stale and not be fun any more. In my opinion having U.R.F. one weekend a month would be a good thing, I even think that it would be a good marketing ploy by Rito. Instead we get the meh/boring game modes all the time which are not even close to as fun or popular as U.R.F, and we get U.R.F. once every 3 or 4 months?!?!?![zombie-brand-mindblown] I just Don't understand the reasoning behind this.

Riot pls ffs dont you see that about 95% or more want URF thats all we want! Dont make us wait 3 months for a gamemode everyone demands! Nobody cares about poro king, dominion, hexakill and all the other boring gamemode all we want is the entertaining ones like nemesis draft and URF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give us Ultra Rapid Fire!

Personal opinion, I'm ready to get downvoted to oblivion Urf is my favorite game mode because it is so exciting and action packed BUT 34/54 of the comments on this thread (not replies) are basically "Y NO URF RITO SUCKS FFS"...and its the same on practically any of these rotating game mode threads. 2 are "give us the project skins already" 4 are actually positive comments. At least some people are grateful (i.e., yay nemesis draft!) and all the rest are asking for other game modes/criticizing the current selected game modes

 Could everybody please just take a moment and reflect on what Riot has already given us? Now, I'm not saying Riot is our savior and perfectly fault-free (I watched the entire MonteCrist0 video on the Renegades investigation, looked through all the documents, and question Riot's decisions). HOWEVER, they have provided plenty for us.

On League, Client,etc -They've given us a free to play game, when they easily could've charged money. This applies to people complaining about skins as well. The whole game's free, its YOUR choice to buy skins. So don't complain about what you call "ridiculous prices" and etc. -They constantly add in new skins for those who want new particles or such on their favorite champions. It takes time to develop the model and all new particle effects. -While a lot of people hate on it, Hextech crafting is FREE. It's not cost money, just some people waste money on it. EMBRACE IT, its a way for people who don't spend money on League to get skins for FREE. You get chests, keys for free. Thank Riot for adding it. -A question to those complaining about the project skins not coming out yet (I'm guessing you want to buy them): Which would you prefer, a spoiler telling you that they will be releasing some high quality skins in a couple weeks, so you can prepare for it, or would you rather them release the spoiler and then the skins 1 or 2 days later? I'm assuming quite a few players are still students, so I'm sure they would want to adjust their spending accordingly rather than being caught off guard and wishing they could get the skin but not having the budget to do so.

On Rotating Game Modes, Urf,etc -They even bothered implementing Rotating Game Modes. Simply updating old game modes requires a lot of effort on programming side to keep it updated, especially with things like Nemesis Draft which is coming up, as they need to adjust it to the new map,champ select,etc. -They gave us Urf. They promised 2 weeks, they gave it. Stop flaming them, they followed through. Accept it and be grateful for it. Please, just shut up. I'm sick of seeing everybody complain about no Urf. Yes, it's a very fun game mode. No, Riot didn't say they'd give 3 weeks. Do you think flaming Riot constantly will help? Would you give in to somebody's demands if they've been screaming about you and insulting you for months? I thought not. -I believe Riot has said that they are working on BMB and DoomBots, but it is difficult to, particularly regarding having to rewrite the Doom Bots programming. Give them time, they have said they are working on it. Patience is a virtue. -They've even developed new game modes for RGM, Nexus Siege as the example. They could just be lazy and cycle through already existing game modes, but Riot has gone beyond. They took the time to develop an entirely new game mode which is extremely unique, and requires quite a bit of programming to develop as well as playtesting on PBE to balance it.

TL;DR: shut up and stop complaining.I'm not a Riot fanboy, but I do recognize that they have done plenty for us. Free game, free way to get skins,alerting us to upcoming things well in advance,developing more game modes, updating old ones. Riot promised 2 weeks urf, they followed through, so please shut up about more Urf.
