How will a winner be determined?

The winner is determined by active participation in the VS missions. More completed missions for God-King Garen or Darius’s side result in a higher score for that God-King.

What’s in a VS Bag?

VS Bags drop randomly from Lion and Wolf Orbs and contain a set of five skin shards from champions from the same Runeterran faction. Limited skin shards are excluded.

No, the post has a table that shows you only get the icon of the champion who wins (AKA the side with the most completed missions).

That table show that no matter what you will get an icon based on the one you choose the bonus for your faction winning is 1000 BE. Though you will only be able to get 1 of the 2 icons for free you are guaranteed to get one.

Wrong, if you look at the table for Victory Scenario you will see that to the right of: "You chose God-King Garen and he lost" the reward is "Endless War Icon" and not the "Eternal Reign Icon".

Valor is correct. While it is true you will get an icon regardless of your team, it will always be that of the winning side (i.e. you choose Darius. If you win you get the Darius icon + 1000 BE, but if you lose you get the Garen icon). If you think otherwise reread the rewards table, and note which icon is rewarded in each scenario.

Judging from last year's VS Event with Riven vs. Yasuo, the alternate icon will not be available and (as far as I'm aware) never will be available at any point in time.

I agree with those in this post, I like the Garen Icon much more AND like Garen more, but Darius is just objectively, significantly more popular. I understand the general premise of winning the war so you get that icon or whatever, but honestly that seems really really BM to the team that loses. "OH you like this skin and icon better? have the icon you didn't want :) to never use :) and always remind you of the icon you wanted but that doesn't exist and can't be gotten :) :) :)"

Strange thing is, if you listen to the voice lines and interactions for the skins, it almost seems like Garen is the evil tyrant, and Darius is just trying to be free. Just what I got from it anyways. White armor and Light powers do not a benevolent ruler make.

this is why garens voice lines on the skin sucks ass.

because people dont understand that there is no good guy on these skins. darius sure as hell isnt one. garen wants peace, but enforce it under his uncontested rule. darius wants to plummet the world into chaos and endless war where the strong prey on the weak.

even if he manages to kill garen, he doesnt want the war to end. he wants to tear civilization down and have the world in a perpetual state of chaos and bloodshed.

if you ask me, when it comes to the individual, garen is still the better choice out of the two. you have to worship him, but youre protected and wont die, because someone wants the piece of land youre living on. but the event is supposed to be about order vs. chaos and not good and evil.

people will just go for darius because hes either the stronger champion, or riot failed in making both seem like equally appealing/disappealing choices.

Some of us like Darius more, as a character and otherwise, than Garen. It isn't always because Darius is a strong champion.

But I do agree that a lot of people seem to gloss over the part where Darius wants to cause endless bloodshed.

Good and evil is based on perspective. In this case, Garen is the guy who's in control, therefore he is the light, the so called good. Darius on the other hand is the rebel, one who usurps, therefore making him the dark, the so called evil, just because he wishes for change. If you think about it, the 'evil' in both years are technically the good ones or ones breaking free and ushering in change from what is the accepted norm of the so called 'good/light'

The idea here is that neither of them are particularly good. Both offer something, but demand something more precious in return. In Garen's case he offers security at the expense of liberty and Darius offers liberty at the expense of security. The reason, though, that neither side is meant to be a moral good is because the thing they take isn't worth what's offered in either case. In Darius's case you'll likely have a very short life and a very violent end, but in Garen's case you'll lose everything that makes you human.

I like both and I don't really care for anything but the essence. However, darius has 200k more special interactions views released a day earlier than garen's, and garen's spotlight released a day later has 100k more views so I'm really not sure which to go for. I think you're probably right about Darius though just bc of this lol. (the dislikes/likes compared to views comes pretty close too so idk)

Well, people wanted Yasuo because Riven literally only boasted about how she serves the light, when Yasuo only served himself and refused to be a slave to anyone. Here it's the same, except that Darius wants the land to be as it is, while Garen wants only peace, even if he becomes a tyrant in doing so.

Remember, Summoners. This isn't a battle of good versus evil. Riot purposely made both God-Kings bittersweet with grey morality to entice players to support or be against a particular side. This event is Order versus Chaos and the good and bad they both offer.

God-King Garen - A god who will forge a world of eternal peace and prosperity at the cost of strict judgment and absolute loyalty. Fall in line with his divine design or perish under the weight of his power. The God-King of Order.

God-King Darius - A god who will tear down any form of oppression and servitude to provide absolute freedom for all... Freedom for his thirst of endless war and bloodshed that will consume all of creation and life itself, of course. The God-King of Chaos.

If anyone wanted to know, the max amount of tokens u can get from just missions alone is 200 tokens. But you gotta play everyday to complete all daily missions or you will not get the 200. So if you skip a day you will lose 5 tokens per day. Do I really have to say to complete the mission line missions too?

Reread it, it looks at first glance like we'd get the icon we chose, but if the one you chose loses, you get the other icon. So whoever wins gives everyone the same icon.
