December’s bringing flurries of stuff to keep track of. Here are all the links you should need to close your year out right.

Nexus Blitz

Nexus Blitz returns until January 21, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. PT!

Skirmish across a compact, 2-lane map with constant action and map-wide events in this fast-paced (15-20 minutes) experimental mode.

Nexus Blitz features mayhem-inducing events like:

Bardle Royale: Both teams battle it out in an ever-shrinking circle of death until only one is left standing.
Loot Teemo: Chase a giant Teemo around the map and hit him to take his gold!
(NEW) Prize Fight: Teams face off in a gauntlet of 1v1s and 2v2s. Strongest vs strongest, down to... less-strongest vs less-strongest.
(NEW) URF Deathmatch: Everyone is URF’ed (with massively reduced cooldowns, attack speed, no mana, and more). Everyone has three lives. Fight until one team runs out!

Winning an event grants one of several wild rewards, including:

Catapult of Champions: Click the giant cannon next to your fountain to launch yourself across the map!
Blessing of Blitzcrank: Gives your turrets and cannon minions Blitzcrank’s Rocket Grab.
(NEW) Battle Sled: The whole team can pile into this vehicle, with the first player to click acting as driver. Take a leisurely cruise around the map until you hit something and the sled explodes, damaging and knocking up nearby enemies.

Why be one champion when you can be all of them? Neeko, the Curious Chameleon, arrives in Patch 8.24 with a Winter Wonder skin that’s a perfect fit for the season.

Snowdown & K/DA Akali Prestige Edition

Snowdown brings new skins for Neeko, Master Yi, Soraka, Dr. Mundo, and Twitch, gold chromas for past Snowdown skins, new icons/emotes/wards, and the K/DA Akali Prestige Edition skin.

I miss the consistent rotating game mode. Are there any plans to bring it back? This once every two months dry spell is depressing.

But really, I miss the rotating mode so much. Just summoners rift after so long is just...(or twisted treeline but who REALLY plays that anyways) at this point im grasping at new champs or anything to make the game feel fresh again.

I took a few months of hiatus from this game just because their wasn't any champion I actively wanted to play any more. Looking forward to Neeko, but yeah, League is starting to feel far from fresh.

It'd be nice if dominion (or something similar) was just the baseline rotating game mode. Swap it out for special events, but that way we don't have SR or HA as the only two real options...

Why are they setting limits to these modes at all. Can't we just play this one til they replace it with something else. It is a nice break from normals and ranked. I am suprised they kept aram so long though.

Why is Nexus Blitz still a limited event? I thought it's meant to be a permanent feature in the future.

The mode is still experimental. They want to gauge interest in the mode to see if it should be permanent or not.

This is a misunderstanding of what happened. Yes, their players do drop when URF mode finishes but that's not because URF in itself is bad, it's because URF is simultaneously their most loved mode as well as their most exclusive. People know they can only play URF on rare occasions, so when RIOT puts it out they spam the crap out of it. This gives them fatigue, so when URF is gone, they don't want to play any League at all as they got in way more playtime than usual over the coarse of URF being release. All RIOT had to do was release URF more often and it would've balanced itself out, but they barely tried that (releasing it twice a year instead of once) so the problem never got fixed and they just blamed URF all together.

This is beyond true. Urf brings lots of casual players back and increases player count exponentially, but it only comes around 2 times a year and it makes everyone have to spam it which causes player fatigue. Making urf perma would have fixed the problem since there isn't such a huge demand to spam it. All a lot of players want is urf cause the actual game has become so frustrating. Sadly riot will never learn or care to take the time to listen to the players, and they just use these events to sell skins much easier.

Why until!?! Just leave it as a permanent game mode. We need a quickie mode that allows us to play and experiment with champs as wee see fit. Twisted treeline is way too slow paced, ARAM is Random, which is annoying for experimenting purposes, and practice mode is just that, practice. The rotating games were allowing this, but you just flatout got rid of them.

Replace twisted treeline by Nexus blitz and bring back rotating game mode like before (arurf, poro-king, Hexakill, one for all (not mirror mode please), assention, etc.)

I think he's only able to do the regular Your Shop deals. Either way he stopped listening after the first part and now is running around in a Santa hat

When does this patch actually go through? Weird that they are acting like it's available now, or not giving us a timeframe for when I can enjoy this game again lol.

It'll probably be after all stars, they don't want to risk precious viewership

This x1000, I've been playing NB 2.0 on the PBE for weeks now and I can't wait to play with the rest of my friends who are PBE-less. This is frustrating that they won't tell us...WHEN.IT.GOES.LIVE??? Great point about it being after All Stars, since they are doing a show match of sorts with NB.
