The League of Legends Origins documentary is available now on Netflix and other video platforms.

As we were making League of Legends in the early days, we were thinking this journey we all took together could be worth capturing for the community. From 2012-2017, Leslie Iwerks, renowned documentary maker, joined us on our journey as we built and scaled League of Legends. For our 10 year anniversary, we're sharing the footage and history from the early days of League of Legends. For the 10 Year Anniversary of League of Legends, we wanted to share the interviews and moments she captured.

League of Legends Origins tells the story of how dedicated players and a then-inexperienced startup struggled to make an explosively popular PC game and esport.

This made me stupid emotional, something about seeing clips from the first worlds I ever watched, and the old maps and just overall look and feel of the game as it was when I first discovered league is just so nostalgic. You've come a long way. It hasn't all been sunshine and rainbows but we're proud of you regardless and its things like this and how you interact with the community that keep us coming back for more. I'd also just like to say I'm excited for what all you have in store for us, the shooter looks fucking dope and that honestly means a lot coming from me I haven't been excited/had high hopes for a game launch in well.. a long time. Thank you guys for everything you do for us

it's crazy how 10 years can change lives and also the video game we all love so much. I am so glad to be apart of this generation that lives with seeing the change of video games first hand. keep moving forward Riot.

I recently wrote about the history of mods and covered a lot of somewhat untold stories when I did interviews with Terrorblaze, Neichus, Guinsoo, and others. Was fun to look back and figure out a lot of things that were never openly exposed.

I've been playing this game for... about 6 years now. And the amount of growth that both me and the game have been through, the amount of tears I shed and resulted to League as an outlet because I wasn't healthy and self aware enough to find any other way, everything that has happened to me to better myself and help me improve myself has trailed back to this game in some way, shape or form. And I just want to say thank you so much for making League. [sg-soraka] [sg-jinx]

I really loved the documentary :) I only started playing League about 3 years ago now, coming from being a DOTA player, so it was nice to see a bit of history put together nicely in one video. Love what you are doing overall, keep moving in a positive direction!

TLDW: We loved the DotA mod, so we left Blizzard and stole the idea...erm...I mean made our own better version.

6 years and a map hasnt changed yet? atleast a skin for the map outline jesus christ even dota 2 has skin for the map
