Bilgewater: Burning Tides sails over the horizon

TLDR: Bilgewater: Burning Tides is over and League has changed forever with the introduction of a new item commemorating Gangplank’s fall.

From Brazil to Korea, Oceania to Europe West, players all over the world took a journey to Bilgewater as part of League’s biggest in-game event. You explored the city online, battled across Butcher’s Bridge, plundered alongside the Black Market Brawlers, and read through the Burning Tides story in three acts. And now you can relive the story with a commemorative version of Burning Tides: The Reckoning. Download the PDF here!

In celebration of Bilgewater: Burning Tides, we’re leaving a permanent mark on League of Legends. As part of the next patch, Dead Man’s Plate will join the armory of League armaments in commemoration of Gangplank’s fall and grim resolve to reclaim his former glory.

As a reminder, all players who owned and played an entire matchmade game as Gangplank during the event will receive the Captain Gangplank skin. It can take up to three days to award everyone their skins. Beginning at 11:00 AM PDT on August 12, the Captain Gangplank skin will be available in the store for 975 RP.

These oranges heal not only based on how fluent Gangplank is with the arcane arts, but also with his vitality.

People keep whispering of the barrels Gankplank brought back to the field upon his return, but none dare repeat what I have been saying since Captain Fortune tried to claim Bilgewater.

I dont see why you guys cant KEEP the ARAM map... so when you queue for ARAM we can have a chance to play in either howling fjord or bilgewater. Kind of a huge waste of time and money spent on making the map for it to only be here for a little while and be completely gone... just make it available always please.

Having two separate ARAM queues would increase the already long-ish queue time, as well as be unnecessary gameplay-wise. They need to to choose one map to stay, and it makes more sense for The Howling Abyss.

Edit: I hadn't played ARAM in quite a long time. From what I had remembered, ARAM queues were as long as Dominion. My bad.

I think what Primordial means is have one queue for ARAM still, but let the game choose randomly between the Freljord or Bilgewater version of Howling Abyss to play on.

Whenever you Queue up for a Heroes of the Storm game, it's a different game mode each time. I'm not sure how much work would go into this, but it is possible to have one queue for different maps.

I think the focus on lore has been a long time coming and all the anticipation has built up to something truly amazing, with explosive results.

Today was NOT my day for LOL. I could not get one win in Bilgewater mode what so ever. I was really trying to get my wins the last 4 days for the Split Graves/TF Gold card icon. I could not get wins no matter how well I played RIP. Missed the icon by 4 wins :( maybe one day Riot will let us finish act three.
