Meta 0015 votesYou can get 3 PROJECT Icons with Caches at 750 IP each (2250 total). Each of these will have a Summoner Icon, an Augment Cache Fragment, 2 PROJECT Cores, and the First Strike Blueprint (which unlocks the First Strike border for a Project Skin - Ashe, Katarina, or Ekko). Additional Caches can be bought for RP.
You'll end up having 3 First Strike Blueprints, 6 Cores, and 3 Cache Fragments from these. The 3 Cache Fragments combine to make an Augment Cache, which will have a skin shard and some other loot, and may have another Augment Cache Fragment.
After getting these, get the Disruption Cache for 1500 IP, which will have 7 Cores, a PROJECT: Overdrive Blueprint, and 2 Augment Cache fragments (iirc).
You should have at least 13 Cores total, plus the rest of the loot. Using 7 PROJECT Cores, you can craft the First Strike border for the Ashe, Ekko, or Katarina PROJECT skins if you own the skin. Or, you can use 12 cores to craft a PROJECT: Overdrive (Yasuo, Yi, Zed, Fiora, Lucian, or Leona) skin shard from the Blueprint, which you can then unlock using Hextech Crafting.
Hemolancer1 votesI done messed up then, got the 3 caches (I did not have RP so used IP) and got all open, got the 5 cores and was sad that i couldn't get a border, dident know about the 4 box until today :_; guess it is mostly my falt for not looking deeper into it, so what will happen to the blueprints now that I cant upgrade them?

You are wrong. Zilean was the SN of one of the original developers of Dota-that-became-League, along with Ryze and Ezreal. They naturally made and named characters after themselves. Zilean (the human) was notorious for saying that he thought it was stupid that anyone would consider a bear character for their game, and would do all in his power to combat an absurd idea. This is why Zilean (champ) has that easter egg buff for Volibear.

It's not a buff that does anything, just a vanity buff that tracks your kills of Volibear. He gets a version to track Zilean kills too.

Unfortunately, you just got unlucky. Some people got an Augment Cache Fragment with their free Augment Cache, and therefore got fourteen total PROJECT Cores over the course of the event, allowing them to get two PROJECT icons.

"Forge together an Icon Blueprint and 7 PROJECT cores. Own a First Strike icon and its corresponding PROJECT skin by the end of the event to unlock a permanent First Strike loading screen border for that skin."
